Gus rounds the corner from Shelly Beach for the final sprint in his age group winning 10K
The Manly Scenic Fun Run was held at 8:00am. on Sunday 20th May. The distances were VERY inaccurate, but officially there was a 2K, 5K and a 10K. This is the way of things with fun runs!

Amy Polikowski was first lady in the 2K, with Sophie Wickham 2nd - a reversal of last year's placings. Holly Wickham was 7th.

Gemma was 2nd 12-15 girl in the 5K. Young Samuel was held back by his dad we suspect - he is only 9, and was 6th under 12 boy.

State Road Race championships at Homebush - 6th May 2012

We had some incredible individual results with Daniel Francken coming 2nd in the under 16 boys 5K, Edita 2nd in the under 12 girls 2.5K and Hannah Gibson 3rd in the under 18 girls 5k. We also had a lot in the top 5 or 10. In the teams we won 3 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronze sets of team medals! Not a bad haul.

See below for photos (apologies for not having everyone) and then results......

Race yourselves fit on Sunday afternoons in Pymble.

Maybe you can't always make it to training. Perhpas the West Met races are too far away? If you want some extra training, why not try these races on a Sunday afternoon, put on by Ku-ring-gai Little Athletics Centre. See http://www.klac.org.au/ and click on winter cross country down the side.

During the winter months, the Centre conducts a cross country competition at Bannockburn Oval, Bannockburn Road, Pymble. The course winds around the outskirts of the oval, and starts at 3:15pm each Sunday. The 2012 season will start on 6 May 2012 and continue until 5 August 2012. On the first day, athletes can register from 2:30pm and there will be a course orientation at 3:00pm allowing all runners and parents to walk the courses.

The 2011 season involved athletes from the Manly Warringah, Northern Suburbs, Ryde, North Rocks, Carlingford and Northern Districts Centres.

Season fees: Registered Little Athletes $10, and Unregistered children $55
